In the title compound, [Fe(C7H7O)(C6H4N)] (I), two cyclopentadienyl rings are nearly parallel making a dihedral angle of 2.3(1) A and are almost eclipsed as viewed down the normal to any ring. In the crystal, the molecules are stacked along the b-axis with the short distance of 3.749(1) A between the centriods of cyclopentadienyl rings from the neighbouring molecules. The weak intermolecular C---H...N and C---H...O hydrogen bonds link these stacks into two-dimensional sheets parallel to bc-plane.
