Influence of Fluid Rheological Properties on the Creation of Inhomogeneities in the Fluidized Bed

In this paper, the effect of rheological behaviour of the fluid on the fluidized bed structure is shown for fluidization of spherical particle beds with different types of liquids in a rectangular cross-section (?two-dimensional?) column. The changes inthe bed structure due to fluid pseudoplasticity and elasticity are documented by images of video records of fluidization obtained making use of visualization of the fluid flow through the bed. The flow visualization is realized by hydrogen bubbles generation. The obtained videosequences are evaluated by image processing and analysis. The degree of local particle concentration is analyzed by the statistic method Quadrat Counts. The bed channeling is described by a simple two zone fluidized bed model.

Vliv reologických vlastností tekutin na tvorbu nehomogenit ve fluidní vrstvě

Czech description

Byl studován vliv reologického chování tekutin na strukturu fluidní vrstvy při fluidaci kulových částic s různými typy kapalin v koloně obdélníkového průžezu (tzv. "dvourozměrná kolona"). Změny ve struktuře ve fluidní vrstvě způsobené pseudoplastickými aelastickými vlastnostmi kapalin jsou dokumentovány videozáznamy fluidace za použití metod vizualicace (generování vodíkových bublinek v kapalině) toku kapalin skrze fluidní vrstvu. Získané videosekvence byly vyhodnoceny pomocí metod zpracování a analýzyobrazu. Lokální koncentrace částic byla stanovena a analyzována pomocí statistické metody Quadrat Counts. Tvorba kanálů byla popsána jednoduchým dvouzónovým modelem.
