Modelling of Displacement Washing of Packed Bed of Fibers

  • Original language description

The mechanism of displacement washing of packed bed of porous, compressible and cylindrical particles is presented with the help of an axial dispersion model involving Péclet and Biot numbers. Model equations are solved by using orthogonal collocation onfinite elements. Model predicted values of washing curves are compared with the experimental values measured for displacement washing of unbleached pulp fibres.
