    Three new copper 4-carboxyphenylphosphonates with formulae Cu(HOOCC6H4PO3)?2H2O, Cu(HOOC C6H4PO3) and Cu3(OOC C6H4PO3)2 )?3H2O were prepared and characterized by thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis, energy-dispersive X-ray microanalysis and infrared spectroscopy. Cu(HOOCC6H4PO3) was prepared under hydrothermal conditions and its structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction
