Spontaneous transformation of TATP to DADP(full paper)

  • Original language description

TATP, prepared in the presence of catalysts methanesulfonic, perchloric or sulfuric acid, has been found to undergo spontaneously transformation to DADP. However, no transformation occurs if TATP is purified or prepared involving catalyst hydrochloric acid and just traces of DADP in samples were observed in samples of TATP when nitric acid and tin(IV) chloride were used. The rate of transformation depends on temperature of aging and on molar ratio of catalyst to acetone (nc/na) used during preparation of TATP. The faster rate of the transformation was observed at high temperatures and higher molar ratio nc/na
