Modelling of Displacement Washing of Pulp Bed
Original language description
The mechanism of displacement washing of pulp fiber bed is described using an axial dispersion model involving the Péclet and Biot numbers. Model equations have been solved using orthogonal collocation on finite elements using Lagrangian interpolating polynomials as base functions. The effect of the Péclet and Biot numbers upon time dependences of the exit solute concentration and concentration of solute adsorbed on fiber surface was investigated.
