Electroanalysis with Bismuth-Based Electrodes and their Selected Applications
Original language description
It is already ten years when bismuth-film electrodes have been introduced in voltammetry as a suitable and nearly non-toxic alternative to mercury-film electrodes. Since then, many electroanalysts have continued in the studies with these electrodes, whenfocusing their attention on possible applicability in electrochemical stripping analysis. The number of papers concerning bismuth-based electrodes has proven their suitability and electrochemical properties similar to those of mercury-based electrodes with regard to the trace analysis of inorganic compounds. As discussed below, our electroanalytical group has contributed to the field with respect to advantageous combination of the bismuth concept with carbon paste electrode material.
