The Effect of Lanthanides on Colour Properties of the Ln2Zr1.5V0.5O7 Pigments
Original language description
New ceramic pigments based on pyrochlore solid solution Ln2Zr1.5V0.5O7 (where Ln = Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu) were synthesized as high-temperature environment friendly inorganic pigments. The compounds have been prepared by solid state reaction in the temperature range from 1300 to 1500 °C. Their colour properties were investigated depending on content of various lanthanides. The pigments were also evaluated from the standpoint of their structure, colour and particle size. Our results indicated that these compounds can provide yellow and orange hues that are stable in ceramic glazes and can also substitute environmentally problematical yellow pyrochlore Pb2Sb2O7.
