Original language description
BCHMX was studied as a plastic explosive bonded by Silicone matrix. For comparison the original plastic explosives, Composition C4 based on RDX and Semtex 10 based on PETN were studied. Pure explosives used as active material in the plastic compositionswere included as well. Sensitivity to impact and friction were measured. The thermal stability was studied using differential thermal analysis (DTA) and the outputs were evaluated by Kissinger method. The detonation velocity was measured experimentally and the detonation characteristics were calculated by means of CHEETAH code. On the basis of mutual comparison of all the obtained results, it was concluded that the new formulation has lower sensitivity to impact and friction than Composition C4 and Semtex 10; also it has higher thermal stability.
