For optimal production technology of hot melt compositions and also for optimal processing of final hot melts, it is necessary to know the rheological behavior of molten materials in terms of production and application conditions. The quantities characterizing the flow, wetting, tack, elongation, peel strength, cohesive strength, and shear resistance can be related to rheological properties. In this contribution, the results are presented of measurements of the rheological behaviour of three polyvinyl acetate - polyethylene copolymers (EVAK), differing by their melt index, designated as EVAK-25, EVAK-150, and EVAK-400. The steady shear and dynamic properties were measured using Haake MARS rheometer in the temperature range of 140-180 ?C.
