Photostructural changes in As15S85 chalcogenide glasses: influence of thermal history
Original language description
Sulfur rich chalcogenide glasses of the AsxS100-x binary system show colossal photostructural changes when illuminated with near-bandgap light [1,2]. Photostructural changes lead to the modification of physical properties and meet a number of applications in photonics and optoelectronics. In this work, the influence of thermal history of glass on photostructural changes was studied. The starting glass with the composition As15S85, used for this study, was prepared by melt-quenching. The initial quantitywas divided into three parts and each one was subsequently remelted and cooled down under different conditions. Parts of these three glasses with different thermal history were further annealed. Finally, 12 bulk glasses with the same composition but different thermal history were prepared. Structural changes were studied via Raman spectroscopy using resonant (441.6 nm) and non-resonant (1064 nm) conditions. In addition to bulk glasses, also their solutions in butylamine and thin layers,
