Study of physical-mechanical and anticorrosion properties of polymer coatings based on epoxy resin containing nonisometric zincferrite particles

  • Original language description

Anticorrosion ferrites were prepared from oxides or carbonates through a high-temperature process during a solid phase. The formulated zincferrites had a nodular, lamellar, and needle-shaped particles. The synthesized anticorrosion pigments were used toprepare epoxy-resin based coatings that were subjected to tests for determining of physical-mechanical properties and anticorrosion properties. The synthesized anticorrosion pigments were used to formulate epoxy coatings with PVC = 10 % for the synthesized pigment and with the PVC/CPVC ratio = 0.3. The coatings were tested for physical-mechanical properties and in corrosion atmospheres. The corrosion tests results were compared with aluminum zinc phosphomolybdate. Comparisons of the lamellar ferrites with regard to the combinations of the Mg-Zn and Ca-Zn cations serve to detect the relatively stronger anticorrosion effects of the ferrites that contain the Ca-Zn combination. Of great benefit are the application and the method of synthesi
