The review is focused on a diverse use of polarized ethylenes bearing an alkoxy, halogen or amino group in the reaction with S-, N- ambident nucleophiles (thioamides, thioureas, thiosemicarbazides, thiocarbamates, dithiocarbamates) to give pyrimidine and1,3-thiazine ring. Other possibilities of synthesis of these heterocyclic scaffolds are also reported.
