This paper is dedicated to the system of support of projects co-financed by European Structural and Investment Funds in the Czech Republic in the programming period 2014 - 2020 as compared to the programming period 2007 - 2013. The system of support in the programming period 2007 - 2013 faced a number of problems. Nowadays, the basic conditions of provision of support have been set up in the Czech Republic for the programming period 2014 - 2020. The authors of this paper aim to make comparison of the systems of support in the programming periods 2007 - 2013 and 2014 - 2020 and to assess how the conditions valid in the new programming period eliminate the problems that prevented smooth drawing of support from European Structural and Investment Funds inthe previous period and made the situation of the applicants and project solvers more difficult.
