Original language description
Waste waters produced by production and application of dyes are contaminated with high content of colored polar organic compounds (high content of Chemical Oxygen Demand, COD). Wastewater from the production of halogenated dyes is contaminated by halogenated organic compounds (analyzed as AOX parameter - Adsordable Organic Halides). The work describes the precipitation of textile dye Mordant Blue 9 from model waste water by addition of ionic liquid (IL) in combination with coagulant (ferric or aluminiumsalt). Benzalkonium chloride was succesfully tested for the precipitation of Mordant Blue 9 dye as efficient, commercially available and cheap ionic liquid.
