Selected Viral Hemorrhagic Fevers: A Lot of Questions, Few Answers
Original language description
Viral hemorrhagic fever disorders represent a group of diseases caused by viruses from several viral families (Arenaviruses, Filoviruses, Bunyaviruses and Flaviviruses). Such disorders are classified as acute viral febrile diseases characterized by nausea, myalgia and fatigue, with the dominant feature of general alteration of vessel permeability. Symptoms of bleeding, which are usually diffused and present a symptom of general vessel injury rather than a life-threatening condition often occur, particularly in severe cases. Viral hemorrhagic fevers can present as a range of disorders from relatively moderate to human life-threatening conditions with hifh mortality rates.
