Original language description
Present work deals with synthesis and evaluation of physical and chemical properties of rosiaite, which can be detected in historical yellow pigment known as Naples yellow. Rosiaite in high purity was synthetised by solid state reaction in several calcination steps at temperatures of 600 and 850 °C. Based on Raman spectra, PbSb2O6 can be identified in selected artworks by Czech landscape painters from the turn of the 20th century. Sun light resistance of the oil layers were tested in Q-Sun chamber. During the first 165 hours, the colour layers significantly degraded and changed the colour from white to grey.
