Use of Map Servers in Czech Public Administration
Original language description
Internet map servers as a technology for allowing access of end users to geoinformation is newly implemented among services provided by the Czech public administration authorities. There is a duty given by the law to public administration that they mustprovide information including information about environment. Unfortunately, there is no standard how to provide geoinformation. The result is obvious. Internet map servers are built spontaneously by some public administration bodies without any control throughout the whole country. It can cause a serious problem in the future when some standardization process takes place. A lot of work and money can be lost. Some ideas how to continue with implementation of the services of Internet map servers into Czech public administration are discussed in the article.
