Global financial and economic recession outspreaded from financial sector in USA and affected almost all regions and branches. Nevertheless every branch has its specifics which cause on one hand different extent and way of impacts of recession, on the other hand it has own possibilities to eliminate these negative impacts. This paper is focused on healing spa industry, its specifics in light of recession impacts and possibilities of spread of risks. It compares the situation and development of spa industry in Czech Republic and Slovak Republic in recent years.
