Analysis of the Regions Based on Multidimensional Methods
Original language description
The submitted paper focuses on the utilization of the concept of aggregated indicators for expressing the competitiveness of regions. The method of multidimensional analysis - factor analysis has been used for the modelling. In this article data from theEurostat statistics database are used. These data are data for 217 convergence regions NUTS 2 EU-27 and also data for 30 statistics regions corresponding to the NUTS 2 level from two candidate EU countries and Turkey and also for 16 regions from the European Free Trade Association. The result of the factor analysis is the development of a set of composite indicators that markedly contribute to the increase of competitiveness of a given region.
