Original language description
One of the main aims of the contemporary society is to provide barrier-free environment so all physically impaired people can move safely and without any discomfort. Utilization of GIS and spatial analyses to identify barriers for physically impaired people in the city of Pardubice (Czech Republic) is described in the paper. At first, data had to be collected. Then, database queries, proximity analyses and network analyses were used to analyze them, find barriers and evaluate friendliness of the city environment for people with physical impairment. Proposal for the future work are presented in the paper too.
