Original language description
The aim of the conference paper is to present the theory of opportunity cost and its usability to the start-up support organizations. According to the Czech Statistical Office, there is growing birth rate of set up companies (in 2006 - the birth rate is10,35% for business companies and 9,02% for private entrepreneurs). This amount of new ventures represents the potential customers for the organizations providing the support to the start-up companies. The paper examines how these organizations can findthe right potential customers for an advertising campaign. The partial help can provide the results of Amit et al. (1995) study which argued that lower the opportunity costs individual has the higher probability is that he would become an entrepreneur. Using the demographic data the conference paper will try to examine the opportunity costs for different socioeconomic group. The results show the probable efficient target for the advertising campaign of start-up support organization.
