Path Dependence of Corruption in the Czech Republic

In the paper we appear from the fact that corruption was, is and as well as in the future it will stay with the most probability one of the possible forms of economic behaviour of economic entities with significant impact on quality of economy of individual as well as economy of government. It is a characteristic feature of corruption that it occurs in all countries regardless their political and societal arrangements. Being aware of adverse consequences of corruptive behaviour every state attempts in the course of time to reduce corruption to the lowest level possible. The objective of the presented article is analysis of the past and current status of corruption in the Czech Republic, including an estimate of a future trend of corruption in this country. The corruptive environment will be analyzed retrospectively looking back at the change of the social order in this country and in the context of the theory of new institutional economics.
