Original language description
Light detection and Ranging technology (LIDAR), becomes one of the most popular tool used for terrain spatial analysis. It's the most widely used apparatus for digital terrain models (DTM) creation. But the technology itself is commonly used in other disciplines as well as in architecture, design and engineering. Scanned data points are often characterized as noisy, intersecting and large data files their raw form must be carefully adjusted for further usage. Corrected points can be transformed from vertex into a mesh or polygon. Each of these operations need specialized interventions which will be described in this article. Specific use of processed spatial data, software and the algorithms will be shown too.
