This paper deals with the meaning of the cloud computing technologies in nowadays GIS and their role in the presentation and the availability of the spatial data via internet. The first part is focused on the role of cloud storage, GIS and their intersection. It is followed by performance testing of selected cloud storage services while using spatial data, with emphasis on measurements of upload and download speeds.
