The Influence of Node Speed on MANET Routing Protocol Performance
Original language description
The Mobile Ad-Hoc Network, also known as MANET, is one of the most popular networks that have arisen in the area of technology in recent years. MANET has several routing protocols to transmit data between the source and destination nodes. A MANET protocol must be appropriately configured to guarantee effective data transfer. There must be a suitable routing protocol in place to accomplish this goal. As a result, the correct routing protocol must be selected. MANET relies heavily on adequately using parameter values in its routing protocols. MANET is a network of battery-powered nodes that communicate with each other. Routing protocols are essential in MANET because MANET nodes rely on them to transmit data. While all the routing protocols perform the same function in the network, their performance varies significantly. A network simulator (NS-2) is used in this study to evaluate the performance of four routing protocols at various node speeds. The impact of node speed on the performance of MANETs is essential. This study examined AODV, DSDV, DSR, and ZRP metrics to compare the most popular routing protocols. Comparative experiments confirmed their validity for throughput, packet loss, end-to-end delay, and energy consumption. More than 40 simulation scenarios were run to ensure a network performance result, and four performance parameters were analyzed and compared across four different network speeds to provide a thorough investigation. The finding has confirmed that routing protocols’ performance is influenced by node speed variety
