Dynamical behaviour of a locomotive drive system at the adhesion limit - experiment and simulation
Original language description
The paper deals with the examination of the dynamical behaviour of a locomotive drive system, employing two methods: experimental measurement and numerical simulation. An experiment is described in which the motor torque of an accelerating locomotive wasincreased until full sliding occurred. The acceleration at selected running gear components was measured. Further, numerical simulation of the same situation is dealt with. The attention is focused mainly on the adhesion model which solves a transient rolling contact problem and enables the simulation of the start-up from zero speed. The experimental and simulation results are compared.
