Original language description
Road transport is important facility enabling the integration of Europe, without sufficient road transport connection possibilities, the economic integration based on international cooperation would never be possible. Almost 1.4 million of traffic accidents killed annually approximately 50 thousands of fatalities and more than 1.5 million of seriously injured people. The costs of traffic accidents are very high. Therefore European transport policy accents the increase of traffic safety The aim of this article is to introduce EuroRAP program that enhances traffic safety on roads. The EuroRAP program maps the safety of every road in the network and publishes this information. Every user is then able to choose safer roads. The first chapter is theoreticaland deals with the development of the program and its objectives. The second chapter is a practical and functioning EuroRAP program in the Czech Republic.
