This article deals with the development of the legal framework for the postal sector of the Czech Republic in particular in connection with the completion of the liberalization process. The legal framework for the postal sector of the Czech Republic in recent years has changed primarily due to the need to transpose the relevant EU directives concerning the liberalization of the sector. The aim of this paper is to map all relevant changes in the examined issues and evaluate their benefits with a view toeffective ensuring especially basic postal services.
