Residual stresses and energies in elastic-plastic materials
Original language description
The situation in concentrated elastic-plastic contact was studied on a thin elastoplastic disc loaded by axial pressure in the central part. Various components of energies and stresses were determined using a simple model. It appeared that the energy ofresidual stresses in the investigated case was comparable with the plastic work done during loading. It also become obvious that the Excel models can be used only for very simple cases, and more information can be obtained by finite element modelling.
