Original language description
This article reports a case of primary hyperparathyroidism that was treated successfully with parathyroidectomy in the third trimestr of pregnancy. Many authors continue discourage surgical treatment in the third trimestr, they report a 58% fetal complication rate. This report is consistent with the opinion that patients unable to be controlled with conservative treatment should be considered for surgery, regardless of gestational age.
