The effectiveness of a nurse-led educational session focused on dysphagia screening
Original language description
The aim was to examine the effectiveness of a nurse-led educational session that focused on a correct implementation of a nursing dysphagia screening test developed in the Czech Republic. Fifty-four students enrolled in non-medical health-related study programs were educated in a session consisting of a video, hands-on practice, and a discussion. At the end of the session, they completed an 8-item multiple-choice knowledge post-test. The average total score was 76.2%. Several recommendations are made toimprove the educational sessions and to ensure correct dysphagia screening in practice.
