Original language description
The article deals with the occurrence of infectious diseases associated with nursing care focused on ventilator-associated pneumonia in hospitalized patients in intensive care. The emphasis is placed on the issue of ventilator-associated pneumonia, nursing care, and the importance of adhering to guidelines in practice. The research investigates the incidence of ventilator-associated pneumonia in selected clinical facilities. Based on a quantitative survey, it verifies, through the standardized observation method, the correct procedure for providing nursing care in patients during artificial lung ventilation using a checklist. Partial results pointed out shortcomings in the preventative measures to combat VAP.
