Spatial analysis of thermal aging of overhead power transmission line
Original language description
Increased loads on power transmission line impose thermal and mechanical stress risks which can be mitigated by developing computational model for better scheduling of line inspections and maintenance. This book introduces a novel methodology for spatialanalysis of conductor thermal aging at three different levels: point, line and area, based on weather data. By utilization this paradigm, the thermal state of an energized transmission line can be visualized which initiates a new dimension in thermal aging research. An advanced model for dynamic re-rating of existing transmission lines is also introdues in the book which helps to reduce the risk of sag of transmission line.
