    Implementing Multicast in Education Area of Computer Networks

    This paper presents an innovative IPv6 multicast labs extension into teaching computer networks. In the classical approaches of computer networks teaching, like Cisco Networking Academy, multicast is often dismissed due to its complexity. This paper introduces new labs with focus on coherent understanding of multicast functionality via show and debug commands as well as examination of multicast packets traveling through the network. All these techniques are aimed on understanding multicast's underlyingprotocols in IPv6, like PIM and MLD. At the end of the paper a performed analysis of students' satisfaction with this extension is described.
