Novel radar north correction estimation algorithm
Original language description
The paper is dedicated to the novel software radar north correction estimation algorithms based on received terrain and ground target echoes, vector map data and height data. The current implementation of algorithms utilizes OpenStreetMap and SRTM height data. The developed algorithms can offer an efficient alternative to currently used north-seeking methods and devices. Algorithms were tested on radar data of a short-range 2D radar ReVISOR produced by RETIA a.s company. North-seeker algorithm results were validated for various sites with comparable accuracy to HW north seekers.
