Analyses of Acoustic Emission Signal by Short Time Fourier Transform with Application on Thin-Walled Ceramic Building Materials
Original language description
The Acoustic Emission Method (AEM) uses detection of elastic waves spreading from the places where there is released the acoustic energy. It enables to detect the defects inside and on the surface of the tested structure. The quality of ceramic buildingmaterials can be determined by the response analysis on the defined way of loading, for example the mechanic impulse. This impulse generating the elastic wave was carried out by the stroke of a special device into the tested thin-wall structure. The Short Time Fourier Transformation (STFT) was used to the analysis of this response. STFT in contradistinction to the classic Fourier Transform (FT) enables to determine the time occurrence of frequency elements in the signal.
