    The knowledge of transport and purification processes in filtration bed and their mathematical description is one of the means which contributes to the higher quality of reed bed treatment plants design eventually to the higher efficiency of existing treatment plants. At the existing reed bed treatment plants most of the problems are caused by high content of dissolved ammonia in waste water. This contribution is aimed at modeling of ammonia removal course, where input data are values measured at laboraatory models and reed bed treatment plants as well.
