The contribution is focused on evaluation of axial strain magnitude in geosynthetics reinforcement of base subsoil layers mobilised during static foundation load tests. The strain magnitude was measured using strain gauges. This paper describes the experiences gained during the strain the strain gauges installation and experiments carried out in co-operation with the transport research centre. Considering all the tests the maximum achieved reinforcement strain was 0,5 % with 37 mm corresponding settlemment of the curcular foundation plate at 450 MPa soil-foundation contact stress.
