The papaer deals with the phenomena causing failures of anchoring cables of guyed masts and with the theoretical analysis of the mast response to the breaking of a cable using the equivalent static method as well as the time-domain response. A numeric example is presented to illustrate the evaluation of impact factor, static and dynamic deflections and structural stresses.
