Rehabilitation of anti-noise walls with wood-cement sound-absorbing boards

  • Original language description

The main task of anti-noise walls is to reduce intensity of sonic waves propagating from the source of noise. Anti-noise walls are usually built in highly exposed locations (traffic, pollution, corrosive substances) and it is very often necessary to rehabilitate them after some time. The proposed solution uses special wooden shaped parts. Noise-absorbing layer was made from specially designed cement-bonded wood-chips and the shape was designed so that the final anti-noise wall is of the highest soundproofing class possible. The special shaped wooden parts can be used for rehabilitation of anti-noise walls in road and railway construction and for reinstating of tunnels and tunnel mouths. The paper describes development and testing properties of cement-bonded wood-chip material, which creates the noise-absorbing part of the acoustic board and development and testing of the bearing reinforced concrete structure of the board, which makes the board stable as a whole and gives the board low
