Effects of the aggresive environment on the bridge components: Cellular automata case study
Original language description
The cellular automata technique is applied to the problem of lifetime assessment of concrete structures, particularly bridges, under diffusive attack from deicing salts. Cellular automata can simulate degradation of material as a 2D or 3D task and to describe more realistically a spatial and temporal variability of ingress of chloride ions. Application for a particular bridge and partial comparison to the laboratory testing is provided.
