    For timber structures, which should be reinforced by additional FRP reinforcement, is very significant to ensure suitable adhesion application. For these purposes should be chosen suitable adhesives with specific characteristics to achieve sufficient penetration into the wood microstructure. The most important effect which influences the final bond strength, is the wood moisture, the others are temperature, preliminary surface treatment, and others. In the paper are describe the main characteristics (delamination, shear strength in bond line), which would be evaluated for each adhesive system before applying the FRP composites onto wood surface. Also are mentioned some results of system durability after exposing the climatic conditions.
