Experimental verification of behaviour of composite steel and glass-fibre-concrete beams
Original language description
This paper deals with some problems rearding the behaviour and ultimate load-carrying capacity of composite beams composed of steel and glass-fibre-concrete (GFC). This paper presents some information on the current results of experimental verification of the actual behaviour of the afore-mentioned girders, namely the particular problem of their actual behaviour around the supports of continuous beams. To verify this behaviour, loading tests of specimens of specific dimensions and arrangements were carried out. Failure mechanisms and corresponding objective load-carrying capacities were observed for the tested specimen. Within the framework of the theoretical analysis, calculation models based on FEM (using the ATENA and ANSYS programmes) will be elaborated; these numerical models will be verfied and calibrated with respect to the test results.
