Analysis of Interaction of Retaining Walls with Underground Structures in Clay
Original language description
This paper is focused on the interaction of a retaining structure with a secondary municipal tunnel (3 m diameter), which are used to carry service lines in the Czech Republic. A deep excavation is constructed in vicinity of an existing tunnel. A finiteelement analysis examining an influence of a position of the existing underground structure on the deformation mode and internal forces of the retaining structure respectively an influence of a deep excavation on changes of internal forces in the tunnellining is presented. Different constitutive models, namely Mohr-Coulomb model, Hardening Soil model and Soft-soil model, are used in the analysis. Soil conditions represent soil profile typical for Brno region - overconsolidated Miocene clays. Significant influence of the deep excavation on the internal forces of the tunnel lining (increase of bending moment up to 120%) is shown whereas the influence of the existing tunnel on the internal forces in the diaphragm wall is small (is than 14
