Dynamic analysis of the penstock of the pumped-storage power plant

Result description

The determination of the response of the penstock of the pumped-storage power plant Ružín to water pressure pulsations may be considered as a classical example of the general problem of the response of a structure interacting with fluid. Application of the method of finite elements offers a propeer solution of that problem. The computation model of the penstock involves the reinforced concrete intake structure with two embedded inlet steel pipes entering a two-branched wye steel penstock strait pie segment, and reinforced concrete anchoring block with embedded pipe and wye with two branch pipes leading to inlets of two reversible turbines.
