COMPARISON OF STRUCTURAL CONCRETE STRENGTH VALUES AS TESTED BY SCHMIDT IMPACT HAMMERS, TYPE N/L
Original language description
Non-destructive methods are one of possibilities to determine concrete compressive strength without damage of the structure. Testing by Schmidt impact hammers should be based on presumption that particular testing point being checked by means of variousimpact hammer types should provide same values of concrete compressive strength. To check the expectation as mentioned above, we analyzed concrete structures built-up 25 to 40 years ago, using Schmidt impact hammers type N and type L. It was determined that values of concrete compressive strength as tested by Schmidt impact hammer type L are lower than the same as tested by Schmidt impact hammer type N. The difference varies from 0 to 20 MPa; its average is 7.8 MPa.
