Original language description
The applications of fuzzy analyses and stochastic methods in the field of engineering are presented in the article. The application of the fuzzy theory and stochastic methods is illustrated on the analysis of the load carrying capacity of a hot-rolled steel beam IPE200 under tension. The alfa-cut method was used in the fuzzy theory. The Monte Carlo method, which utilizes experimentally obtained real material and geometric characteristics, was used for the stochastic theory. The significance of experimental research, necessary in the procurement of statistical data on material and geometric charcteristics, which are often the most important input data of numerical models, is discussed. Differences in obtained results of both analyses are presented. Eachmethod has a different declarative abilitiy. New views, especially in the field of the fuzzy set theory, are presented. Comparison of obtained results of the load carrying capacity of the beam in tension with results obtained according t
