Original language description
Design assisted by testing as the method using experimental results can be the efficient tool for the evaluation of structural members design resistance, namely if no other tools are suitable. The paper deals with the problems of the usage of the designassisted by testing for the design resistance determination aimed to the reliable and effective structural design. In the last period new progressive materials and new structural details are developed and used, so that in many cases the design using experimental results only allows to determine the design resistance. On several selected examples of structural members composed of various types of materials, the application of this method for the design resistance evaluation is shown. The paper is focusedon the practical utilization of this approach from the viewpoint of real assumptions and conditions given by statistical parameters of the quantities influencing the structural member resistance, and consequently the structural reliabili
