Original language description
Wedge splitting test (WST) presents a useful experimental test for the determination of parameters of models developed for quasi-brittle fracture of cement based composites. The influence of the material brittleness (characterized by the characteristic length of the material) as well as the influence of the relative notch depth on the results obtained from the WST test are numerically investigated in the paper using nonlinear finite element modeling (FEM) with implemented principles of the fracture mechanics of cement based composites (a cohesive law)
